Final Few Places Left for CHILDREN 1ST '125' EventThis is a unique opportunity for 125 young people aged 14 -18 from all over Scotland to take part in a special conference and awareness raising campaign organised by CHILDREN 1ST. The event will bring together teenagers from across Scotland who will represent a snapshot of the views of other young people in their communities, sharing experiences and ideas and using a mix of media to develop publicity programmes incorporating the interests and experiences of those taking part. It is taking place on Wednesday 23rd September at the Hub in Edinburgh.
2009 marks the 125th anniversary of CHILDREN 1ST and of the first children’s rights legislation in the United Kingdom. To mark these events, CHILDREN 1st would like 125 young people to participate in a special conference and awareness raising activities.
Participants in the Event will:
learn and practise presentation skills through the use of a range of mediums and prepare to meet the media
build a picture of what is happening for young people in Scotland now
provide a thought provoking vision for the future
use their voices to influence and shape the future for Scotland’s children.
CHILDREN 1ST are keen to encourage involvement from young people from all over Scotland who have something to say.
To apply you must be :
Aged between 14 to 18 years
Able to attend the 125 Event on 23rd September 2009
Able to travel unaccompanied to the Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh EH1 2NE
