Radio and Audio

Media Education helps to run Restricted Service Licences (RSLs) and creates training programmes to involve communities in local community and commercial stations across Scotland. We are expert in developing workshop structures and delivering training to all kinds of people to create high quality radio programmes which reflect the issues and cultural interests of participants.

The recent changes to the broadcast act mean we are able to offer consultancy in structuring community radio to maximise participation and community development potential.

Radio is a wonderfully expressive and intimate medium. Creating ‘sound pictures’ involves combining voice, music, ambient sound and sound effects to create broadcasting that is both entertaining and thought provoking.

The workshop programmes are designed to develop confidence, self-esteem, communications and teamwork. Participants have strong ownership of the process which encourages co-operation , commitment, input and decision making.

Our audio training includes planning, scheduling, scripting, presenting, interviewing, creating radio packages and all the technical aspects of audio recording, editing and broadcasting.
