Creativity and media training was used to develop interest and engage young carers from 3 groups in Fife to plan and develop an awareness raising video for Councillors and stakeholders.

Free time is precious for these young people and all training was delivered as part of their recreational programmes. Participants made radio programmes, short video dramas and completed a variety of arts workshops - all designed to familiarise the groups with the tasks they would undertake as part of their consultation events.

Over 35 young carers took part in an expressive arts day where they made models, masks, posters, drama sketches, video sequences and talked directly to camera about the issues affecting their lives. These assets were edited together to form a video report for Councillors and stakeholders. The young people used video to interview decision makers and provide feedback to the groups and their families.
