Creativity & Media Training : ELC Hub

East Lothian Council Hub Group

Media Education delivered a training programme using digital technology and person centred training techniques to East Lothian Council's Social Work & Housing Department 'Hub Group'. The training allowed staff to experience a purpose made creativity and media training programme from which they could form their own programmes for using expressive arts and media to consult with difficult to reach groups like gypsy travellers and young people from a care background.

Part of this intensive staff development course involved participants in using discussion, consultation techniques and creativity to identify for themselves the role for the Hub Group itself. They decided on the plan of action to follow to create best value from Media Education's input. To solidify and encapsulate their ideas, the training concluded with the group planning and making a promotional video for internal use.
